Netflix’s Programming Alert: A Week of High-Stakes Television Has Arrived

Date:

This is a programming alert for all Netflix subscribers: a week of high-stakes television has officially arrived. The platform is launching a series of new and returning shows where the characters are faced with life-altering challenges, from battles for fortunes to games of survival.

The high-stakes drama begins with House of Guinness, a new eight-part series from the creators of Peaky Blinders. The show centers on the Guinness family’s battle for control of their brewing empire in the 1860s, a conflict where fortunes and legacies hang in the balance.

The stakes are personal and deadly in Angela, a six-part Spanish thriller. The series follows a woman’s dangerous journey to escape an abusive marriage, a situation where one wrong move could have fatal consequences.

The stakes are literally life and death in the third season of Alice in Borderland. The Japanese sci-fi series is back with a new set of games where the price of losing is execution, forcing the characters to push their limits to survive.

The immortal souls of the characters are at stake in the second season of Interview With The Vampire (arriving September 30), which explores the moral complexities of eternal life. And hearts are on the line in the ninth season of Love is Blind (premiering October 1), where contestants risk it all for a chance at true love.
