The game is officially afoot for Benoit Blanc. The first trailer for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery has been released, formally initiating the next great mystery from writer-director Rian Johnson. Daniel Craig returns as the beloved detective, faced with his most daunting case.
The central puzzle is a shocking one: a Catholic priest (Josh Brolin) is murdered in the middle of a service. Blanc himself calls it “the impossible crime,” setting up a high-stakes investigation where everyone is a suspect and nothing is as it seems. The trailer promises a suspenseful and intricate plot.
The film features another spectacular ensemble, with Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, and Andrew Scott among the stars. The teaser also highlights a new, more formal look for Blanc, who appears with longer hair and a three-piece suit, a stark contrast to his previous attire.
Following a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is poised for a major holiday release. Wake Up Dead Man will open in select theaters on November 26th and will be available for streaming globally on Netflix starting December 12th.
