The global balance of power has tipped, and it is not in America’s favor. This is the stark conclusion being drawn from the recent SCO summit, where the leaders of India, China, and Russia demonstrated a powerful and united front, a development one US commentator called a “historically big deal.”
Political analyst Van Jones voiced the growing anxiety in Washington, warning that the image of this new trio should “send a chill down the spine of every American.” He sees it as the definitive sign of a “new world order” where American supremacy is no longer a given.
This tipping point has been reached, in part, due to US trade policies that have alienated much of the world. The tariffs have acted as a catalyst, pushing other major powers to accelerate their cooperation and build an alternative global system.
Jones warned that the US is now “in a box,” strategically outmaneuvered and isolated. He lamented that the country finds itself on the “bad side of the triangle,” facing a world where “it’s everybody against us.” This new balance of power, he concluded, is a perilous one for the United States.
