Ukraine is making a unique pitch to the world: “We can teach you how to beat drone swarms.” President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a new initiative to share Ukraine’s unparalleled expertise in countering one of the most significant threats in modern warfare, positioning his country as a vital source of tactical knowledge.
Zelensky detailed a plan to formalize this knowledge transfer. “We will dispatch a consulting group to some countries regarding how to counteract such steps,” he said, adding that other nations would also be invited to send representatives to Ukraine to learn firsthand. This move leverages Ukraine’s extensive and hard-won experience from the battlefield.
This offer to consult comes as Ukraine is also on the verge of becoming a key technology supplier. Zelensky confirmed that the United States is preparing to start talks on purchasing Ukrainian drones, a powerful endorsement of the country’s defense industry and its ability to innovate under pressure.
While it prepares to teach and to sell, Ukraine continues to be a buyer of essential military hardware. The country is actively pursuing a new deal with the US to acquire long-range weapons, a crucial element of its strategy to gain a decisive military advantage. A delegation will soon be in Washington to finalize the agreement.
This multi-pronged approach—learning from allies by acquiring advanced systems like the recently delivered Patriot from Israel, and teaching them by sharing unique tactical insights—showcases a mature and sophisticated national security strategy.
