Several carriers, including Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, Vueling, Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Europa, have introduced promotional fares, with one-way tickets starting at approximately £14.99 or €16. This competitive pricing aims to attract more flyers after the bustling summer travel period.
Ryanair is offering flights from £14.99 for September and October on routes such as London to Castellon, Barcelona, and Valencia, with prices rising slightly to around £19.99 for November and December. EasyJet’s promotion includes more than 780,000 discounted seats, with selected routes providing up to 20% off. Notable fares include Gatwick to Alicante, Bristol to Malaga, and Luton to Barcelona, starting from £18.99, while some October flights to Palma are available from £15.99.
Wizz Air is bolstering its operations in Spain with new bases launching in Valencia and Madrid this November, adding routes to increase competition with Ryanair. Meanwhile, Spanish airlines are also slashing prices. Vueling offers discounts of up to 20% on 110,000 seats, with international fares from €16. Iberia provides domestic flights from €24 and routes to selected European destinations starting at €29. Air Europa, celebrating its anniversary, has fares starting at €25.
These discounted fares generally include only a small under-seat bag, with additional charges for seat selection, cabin luggage, and checked bags. Travel experts suggest comparing airline tickets on flexible midweek dates, especially in October, November, and January, when prices are typically lower than during peak holiday periods.
